Ok if ya read this comic and love it as much as i do then you will be jumping up and down yelling like i did when i found this out today.
Heres what the page i found says AMC has ordered six episodes of the series that revolves around a group of survivors of a zombie apocalypse. Darabont penned and directed the pilot and will exec produce with Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd of Valhalla Motion Pictures and David Alpert of Circle of Confusion, which will be funded entirely inhouse by AMC parent Rainbow Media. Charles Eglee, a seasoned TV drama showrunner, has also boarded the project as an exec producer.
Dead" is set to begin production in June in Atlanta. It's targeted for an October bow, dovetailing with Halloween and AMC's annual "Fearfest" two-week marathon of horror and thriller pics.

The Walking Dead is centered on Rick Grimes, a small-town police officer from Cynthiana Kentucky his family, and a number of other survivors who have banded together in order to survive after the world is overrun with yes you know it mean nasty dumb zombie old school kinds.As the series progresses, the characters become more developed, and their personalities shift under the stress of a zombie apocalypse.
